Did you know?

The Great Commandment and the Great Commission, combine to create the essential elements of a healthy, growing,
biblically-based church: worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and missions.

New Covenant is a Purpose-Driven® church. This means we work to seek Christ's purpose and vision in everything we do and offer. What is our purpose?

Our Purpose is:
" To journey together as a covenant family bringing people into a deepening relationship with Jesus Christ, teaching all to grow in Christ-like maturity, and preparing all for service and evangelism in the world in order to glorify God."

Purpose Driven is a church health model that providesl a unique, biblically-based approach to establishing, transforming, and maintaining a balanced, growing congregation that seeks to fulfill the God-given purposes of:

  • worship
  • fellowship
  • discipleship
  • ministry
  • missions

The simple approach of the Purpose Driven Model helps lead our congregation toward a common focus that includes a foundational understanding of the Bible and a clear method for measuring their own spiritual growth and the church's overall growth.

The easiest way to explain the Purpose-Driven® church is through the image of a baseball diamond.

What is the baseball diamond? It’s a way to visualize the various steps of our discipleship growth process. We seek to grow by understanding the steps of a discipleship process—to know, to grow, to serve, to share.

What does each base represent? Each base represents a step along our journey. We offer Christian Life and Service Seminars which teach more about each of the steps in the journey. You can learn more about these seminars and when they are offered on the Christian Life and Service Seminars Page. At first base, we discover to real meaning of membership and authentic fellowship. In authentic fellowship, we discover through Life Groups, the elements of practicing prayer, fellowship, and study together. Find out more about these things in our Discovery Class.

At second base, through the Habits Class, we discover the characteristics of Spiritual Maturity and how we can practice these characteristics. We also uncover the ways we can learn more about these characteristics through studies called Core Discipleship Classes that meet on Sundays and Wednesdays.

As we sense a deeper understanding of our faith journey, we are given the opportunity to sense the special ways God has called us to ministry. We discover this through third base in our SHAPE Class; which focuses on ways God is calling us to serve through ministry. We become familiar with our own unique SHAPE (Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, and Experiences for ministry.)

Finally, at home plate, we are called to sense that God has called us to serve as a lay minister. Through the Mission and Evangelism Class we are introduced to the various ways to make this happen!
