Second Habitat House DedicatedWork Progress as of October 15

NCPC has finished its second Habitat for Humanity house for the Bickham family. The dedication of the house was on Saturday, June 4th.

Thank you to all of the volunteers and workers who helped make this second house possible. Watch for more details as New Covenant continues its efforts to help Habitat for Humanity provide affordable housing to people in our area.

The First House is Complete

After countless volunteer hours, the NCPC Habitat House is complete. The dedication took place on January 10, when the home was presented to owner Tanya Collins and her family. Take a look at our photo album to see the project in progress.

Ground Breaking Ceremony for the First Habitat For Humanity House

The Ground Breaking Ceremony was held on September 18. The international president of Habitat, Milton Fuller, was present at the ceremony along with the family who will be living in the house. Church members as well as various members of the community participated and watched the ceremony, blessing the house and it's contruction. Kenneth Baudouin, New Covenant Presbyterian Church Habitat project leader, said, “The mission of Habitat fits so well with community outreach goals of New Covenant Presbyterian and its members. Building a house, building a legacy and building stronger, safer neighborhoods is part of our mission.”

New Covenant Presbyterian church member, Bob Satterlee is sharing the position of Project Leader and will be Volunteer Leader of the New Covenant Presbyterian Habitat house. The groundbreaking of the New Covenant Presbyterian house was part of the Building on Faith week activities highlighted by the visit of Habitat for Humanity International founder and President, Millard Fuller.

Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West is a Christian organization and welcomes volunteers from all faiths who are committed to Habitat’s goal of eliminating poverty housing. Habitat brings families and communities in need together with volunteers and resources to build decent affordable housing. Houses are sold with no profit. Habitat Homeowners contribute “sweat equity” and their house payments are recycled to build more Habitat houses.
